Featured in the summer 2018 edition of Who's Who, Roland Canales founded CSSC in 2004, with his best friend, Robert Haley, and Haley's sister, Janet Pena. This was a new venture for the three of them, but doors were a familiar realm for Canales. Throughout the previous 25 years, Roland had worked in the door industry with five of those years spent at Wilsonart learning about door laminates, followed by working in sales and management for three other Houston-based door companies. Customers appreciated his expertise and dedication to their needs and wanted to work directly with Roland encouraging him to launch his own company. "So that's what the three of us did," Pena says. CSSC started up and began supplying doors, frames and hardware to commercial builders. Whenever someone had a question regarding doors they would call CSSC. Roland would go out to the job site himself, assess the situation and make recommendations and often had architects calling him for advice.
"Roland gave us the CSSC culture. Through relationship building and constant availability, we strive to exemplify Roland's motto - 'The Customer's Success in Our Success'," Pena says. In 2016, a devastating event occurred where Roland had a heart attack and passed away, passing the reigns to Janet Pena and his wife, Amanda (Mandy) Canales, who joined as Partner and Office Manager.
